Synopsis: Twenty years after leaving Edinburgh, former heroin addict Mark Renton returns to his hometown from Amsterdam where he reunites with his former friends Spud, who is still addicted to heroin; Begbie, who has recently escaped from prison and Sick Boy, who is trying to set up a brothel in league with aspiring madam Veronika.
